Erika Joseph Bergen is a communications and leadership development coach, consultant, and facilitator. She excels at coaching individuals and teams to deliver compelling presentations that motivate customers to act.
She also works with (aspiring) leaders to improve their effectiveness, including harnessing their communication style, inspiring maximum team performance, and navigating critical career moments.
Erika grounds her work in intentional change theory and emotional intelligence (EI) principles. She’s also a thought partner for her clients in applying a lens of diversity, equity, and inclusion to their approach.
Erika spent nearly 20 years at global communications firms driving client growth initiatives managing more than one hundred high-stake client engagements, including contracts with Covered California, Airbnb, GSK, Chevy, New Jersey Economic Development Authority, Cybex, Hasbro, and Riot Games. Most recently, she led marketing and communications across North America for AXIS Capital, a specialty insurer, where she drove internal and external communication efforts during a transformative period for the company, consulting closely with many of its executives.
The child of two Army officers, Erika grew up a student of the world - living on 3 continents and 6 cities before age 15. This experience underpins her superpower: knowing how to build powerful connections quickly, and adapting to radical change with a positive perspective.
Erika received her marketing degree from Rutgers University and a masters in strategic communication from New York University. She earned her coaching certification through Case Western Reserve Weatherhead School of Management.
